OUR VISION
Akuma.education is committed to unlocking the potential of young individuals from underserved communities through the power of literature and inclusive education programs.
Our initiatives—ranging from book clubs to school kit distributions and education focused advocacy—are designed to to inspire learning, nurture cultural pride, and advocate for more equitable, relevant, and future-ready educational systems across Africa.

OUR INITIATIVES
AKUMA4EDUCATION
Akuma4Education supports children affected by conflict and living in priority education zones across Cameroon by distributing essential school kits and menstrual hygiene kits. Our goal is to ensure that every child—especially girls—can pursue their education with dignity and hope.
AKUMA READING ROOMS
Akuma Reading Rooms creates safe spaces where children and youth can discover stories that mirror their own experiences. Through reading workshops and book clubs rooted in African literature, we nurture imagination, shape critical thinking, and inspire culturally grounded dreams and solutions for the future.
DIGITAL ADVOCACY
At AKUMA, we harness the power of digital advocacy to amplify youth voices and drive conversations around inclusive and future-ready education systems. Through social media campaigns, digital storytelling, and online engagement, we spotlight the realities faced by underserved communities and push for curriculum reforms that reflect diverse identities, promote equity, and prepare young people for the challenges of tomorrow.
LITERARY CONTENT CREATION
We extend the impact of our Reading Rooms beyond physical spaces through literary content creation. By producing engaging, culturally resonant content—such as story summaries, author spotlights, reading challenges, and digital book reviews—we reach a broader African audience online. This allows us to spark curiosity, celebrate African literature, and inspire a love of reading in youth across the continent, wherever they are.

Estelle Ngah Ekani, Co-founder & Executive Director
"Literature has shaped my view of the world and played a crucial role in my personal development. Alongside education, which I relied on through my school and teachers, it helped mold me into the person I am today. I am deeply driven by the need to give back to my community, sharing the opportunities and insights that have shaped my journey."

Jennifer Eloundou, Co-founder & Head of Public relations
"My journey has always been centered on a holistic approach to issues related to Law and International Relations. In 2023, I joined the Youth Council of the World Food Forum under the leadership of the FAO. My commitment to gender equality and education in Africa guides my actions. With strong experience in project management, research, and advocacy, I am dedicated to initiatives aimed at creating a better world for the next generation. My passion for travel strengthens my belief that education is a key driver for development. I am committed to building an equal, inclusive, and educational future."
