International literacy day - 8 September

✨ September 8 – International Literacy Day 2024 📚

On this International Literacy Day (ILD), celebrated under the theme "Promoting Multilingual Education: Literacy for Mutual Understanding and Peace," AKUMA is proud to have marked the occasion with a school supplies distribution in a group of villages near Obala, Cameroon! Our dedicated volunteers distributed essential school supplies as well as sanitary pads to young girls, thanks to the generous contributions to our #Akuma4Education campaign.

Together, we are making progress towards improving literacy and access to quality education in Africa.

Empowering communities through multilingual education strengthens social cohesion, mutual understanding, and paves the way for peace. We are committed to this cause, and this year's celebration, held in Yaoundé, Cameroon, on September 9 and 10, highlights the urgent need for such transformative efforts.
